A roughly hewn set of steps lead down into the darkness. As you are about half way down the steps, the trap door above closes behind you.
The room has been painfully carved out of the earth and rock.. large pieces of rough hewn trees positioned strategically makes the room seem safe enough from collapse, and at the same time .. quickly destructable..
As you stumble about in the darkness, you find scrolls scattered all over the place. History, herb lore, notes on spells and magic, on creatures and beasts - all scattered about with no obvious organization.
On one wall near to the edge of the stairs, you notice a small oil lamp. The lamp is bent, rusted .. but seems to have a bit of oil left in it. The smell seems to indicate relatively recent use, so.. you take what is left of your match and light the lamp.. and you see, on the wall in front of you..
